people (with a variety of skills) to design, construct and sell innovative
audio devices and kits globally without a boss or work schedule |

Businesses and individuals operate independantly, and help each other develop and sell innovative audio devices.
For example, members may buy parts together in bulk, collaborate in developing new techniques, inform each other of industry news, etc..
- Builders may build any device for personal use without restriction.
Commercial use must follow the designer's license.
(example: License for 4ms Pedals's designs)
- Builders may also opt-out of marketing/selling devices, and allow
a third party to do so. For example, 4ms Pedals charges a fee for selling a third-party pedal on their website.

We welcome designers, audio-circuit-heads, mad-scientists, etc to get involved. The forum and kits wiki are
available for sharing your designs (and receiving community feedback). Email us if you are interested.

any user to add tips/comments, document new techniques, or modify existing instructions.

commonsound was started by Dann Green
in 1998.
its intent was to further research, design,
and production of innovative audio devices, and to facilitate sharing and learning
these skills.... by creating an organization to house other organizations, many
innovators can work together, sharing resources and ideas, while still maintaining
autonomy.
